Bluestone Building Group is a specialist construction company based on the New South Wales South Coast. We focus on delivering solutions for clients in the defence, industrial, hospitality, and commercial sectors. THE BLUESTONE STORY

We’re building a legacy

Bluestone Building Group was started in 2019 with a singular vision to provide specialist services to sectors where trust and quality are paramount. From day one, we defined success as client satisfaction by delivering on time, on budget, and to the quality desired.

The company was founded by Michael Emmett, who had an extensive career in commercial construction with leading builders. He saw an opportunity for a different approach, where collaboration and partnership with clients were as important to the project’s success as having skilled people and quality processes. Michael has formed a team of like-minded construction specialists who share the vision for collaboration, attention to detail, and high-quality finishes.

Since our founding, Bluestone Building Group has developed a problem-solving ethos where clients feel they’re part of the journey. We are confident that when we focus on the client’s needs, form trusting partnerships, move quickly and adapt to changing and complex environments, we will deliver exceptional projects.

A dedicated team of building and construction specialists

Michael Emmett

Director

Michael has been delivering complex commercial building projects for more than 20 years. Michael obtained a bachelor’s degree in Building Construction Management from UNSW in 2003 and has worked in senior roles with some of Australia’s most recognised building companies. Michael looks after the business operations at Bluestone and ensures the needs of our clients are being met.

Mitchell Grove

Operations Manager

Mitch spent a large part of his career in state and federal government roles. Mitch holds a Bachelor of Commerce and his portfolio within the business includes finance, strategy, systems, and operations.

Jay Hall

Project Manager

Jay has been delivering complex commercial building projects for more than 15 years, including over 10 years as a Project Manager, and 4 years in a senior role as NSW construction Manager. His skills and experience include a depth and diversity of build types across a variety of commercial, educational, government infrastructure, multi-storey class 2 residential, refurbishment, design & construct and civil projects.

Nigel McDonald

Project Manager

Nigel is a highly accomplished project manager having worked for well known tier 1 and 2 builders for the majority of his career. Nigel has delivered complex commercial projects in sectors such as Health, Universities, Retail, Hospitality, Education, Residential and Aged Care.

Nigel is also trade qualified in Carpentry and has an exceptional eye for detail, and is a leader in safety and programming.

Craig Weatherby

Pre-Construction Manager

Craig has over 35 years in the architecture, interior design and building industries. He has worked in a wide variety of sectors and has extensive experience in hospitality, commercial fit-outs, health, and building refurbishments which gives him a unique insight into providing quality-built environments.

Tom Greaves

Commercial Manager

Tom is a delivery focused construction professional with 18 years experience and a strong track record in the commercial management of a wide range of projects. Tom has delivered many projects in both privately funded and government funded sectors in in metropolitan Sydney, regional NSW, and abroad in the UK.

Alex Dunster

Contracts Manager

Alex was a dairy farmer before packing the gumboots away and attending Wollongong Uni where he studied a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance. He joined Bluestone as Finance and Systems Manager, but has moved into project delivery. He specialises in delivering commercial bathroom and kitchen upgrades – working with the client at design and planning, through to the finished build. Alex grew up on a local heritage listed farm and has an affinity with delivering heritage sensitive projects.

Kate Bishop

Contracts Manager

Kate has worked on major projects across both government and private sectors, and has over seven years of experience in Contract Administration within commercial construction management.

She holds a Diploma in Building and Construction, as well as a Certificate IV in WHS.

Adrian Misko

Contracts Manager

Adrian has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, working on a wide range of projects. Adrian holds a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering along with additional diplomas and certificates in construction related fields. His experience includes working in both office and site-based roles on complex and challenging projects.

Adrian has worked with Tier 2 & 3 building companies over the past 20 years delivering projects in a variety of sectors including Health, Education, Retail, Residential, Industrial and Commercial, throughout NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

Natalie Stanton

Operations Coordinator

Natalie has a background in business operation, with a focus on improving systems and enhancing business productivity.

With a career history in Event Management & Executive Administration, her focus is on optimising business processes and helping to drive operational efficiency for Bluestone.

Kieran Grech

Site Manager

Kieran is a site manager with a high attention to detail who has 10 years of industry experience across residential, commercial and health sectors.

Greg Lamont

Site Manager

Greg has over 25 years’ experience in the building industry in residential, commercial and industrial settings. He builds a strong working relationship with the client and all stakeholders. Greg has a strong technical understanding of all aspects of construction and uses his wealth of experience to deliver a high-quality project, safely and within the scheduled time frame.

Nathan Kolega

Site Manager

Nathan has over 20 years experience in the building industry, starting out as a carpenter and progressing into project management roles for a number of building firms across NSW. Nathan also previously owned a successful carpentry and construction business which was in business for over 10 years. He has obtained a vast array of knowledge within both the commercial and residential building industry and his key goals are to build a working relationship with the client to deliver a high quality project within the scheduled time frame.

Stephen Pickens

Site Manager

Steve has over 30 years experience managing a range of projects in NZ, the UK and various parts of Australia. With his high attention to detail, Steve places a large emphasis on quality and programme, and is a collaborator with clients, designers and delivery team.

David Smith

Site Manager

With an extensive 38-year career in the building construction industry, David has honed his ability to cultivate and maintain solid relationships with clients, staff and contractors. His expertise ensures quality site management, achieved through diligent programming, strategic planning, meticulous organisation, and exceptional communication skills. David’s comprehensive experience allows him to navigate complex projects and deliver superior results consistently.

Kevin Gregory

Site Manager

Kevin has over 35 years’ experience in the commercial building industry, including 20 years in a commercial site management role.

His range of experience combined with his qualification in Work Health and Safety ensures he delivers projects safely and efficiently.
