Bluestone Converts Port Kembla Warehouse Into Modern Office

Bluestone’s first project with Bluescope involved the conversion of an existing warehouse within the West Wing of the Sinter Plant at Port Kembla Steel Works into a modern, efficient office workspace. Designed by SOTO Consulting Engineers, the project required a heavy refurbishment in a high-risk, process-driven industrial environment, demanding meticulous planning, innovation, and a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency. Working within a live industrial setting, Bluestone carefully staged works to minimise disruption while ensuring strict adherence to risk management and process requirements. The project repurposed an unused space to create a contemporary, functional office environment that supports staff productivity and operational capability. Thoughtful design and high-quality finishes delivered a workspace that is both practical and modern, demonstrating the potential for adaptive reuse within heavy industrial facilities.
